juggling act?

Are you feverishly trying to balance work, school, industry
placement, a household, relationships and a multitude of other responsibilities
at once?
I find that I never truly have all of these balls in the air for more
than a few magical moments! I would like to share a few tips that help me
balance a busy schedule …
1. PRIORITIZE
Prioritizing tasks as A, B, and C level ensures that the most important ones are done first AND if there is a hitch with task A
we can switch to B and then back to A when possible. If I get home from work
and need to (A) do homework (B) make supper and (C) workout I will start my
homework first. If my Wi-Fi goes down I switch immediately to making supper and
then workout until I can return to homework.
2. Manage Transition Time
CrossFitters put their equipment close
together during a workout because if they have to walk across the gym between
each exercise they get less repetitions and a lower score. This reduced
transition time can be applied to life as well. If I have classes spread out
over 8-hours I will pack meals and gym clothes so I can eat and do homework
between classes and use the gym on campus.
3. Deal With Dropped Balls ASAP
Reflect on a daily basis to recognize if
one area needs some serious attention. For me, social obligations tend to be
the first thing dropped when I’m busy. Sometimes I need to take 2 hours out of
my scheduled study time to reconnect with friends and family and that’s OK!
Let me know your thoughts below and if you
have any tips to share!

Everybody feels busy in life so with the help of such tips we can make it easier and enjoyable at some extent.I also like your idea of deal with drop box ASAP as some time we should give more preference to other activities also so it is really good and helpful idea. Hi Julia, this is always interesting to read your blogs and this one particularly was outstanding as everyone can relate themselves to the situation that you discussed here. Me, myself find it difficult to balance several tasks at once. One thing I really liked out of three tips is prioritizing because most people do not know what to do first? As you mentioned here I will surely apply this A, B, C rule from next time. Also, time management skills are very important, and I have seen some people who complain about time management skills and I will tell them the strategy discussed by you to them. I agree with your statement as being a book worm isn’t a good idea and it is necessary to take breaks. Lastly, I just wanna say that I really liked your blog as it inspired me a lot. Keep writing interesting blogs like this!! Keep inspiring!!!

Hey,
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice blog. Seems like you have done a very thorough research on work-life balance. Yeah, things are getting harder day by day. Work life is becoming very hectic and stressful. Responsibilities are hitting skies. We should keep a sync between work and life.
No work is important than personal life, however at the same time we shouldn't ignore our work. We should learn to utilize resources we have. At minimal loss of time, we should be able to handle our work and routine activities.
Your blog gives a very good idea about maintaining work life balance.
